Quality Guidelines for Trading Cards (Single Cards)

When listing an item in the Used category, it is required to select a “Item condition” corresponding to its state and to upload pictures of the item.

Please select the condition level that is closest to the actual state of the item in your possession.

If the selected condition level does not match the actual condition of the item, we will confirm with the buyer at the time of authentication whether or not the transaction can continue.

Please note that, if the transaction is cancelled, we may return the item(s) by cash on delivery.

・The condition list is only an example. Condition level standards may vary depending on the item.

・Product images on SNKRDUNK may appear different from actual color tone due to the photoshooting environment.

・At the time of inspecting the item, we will confirm whether the item condition meets our guideline standards.

・The guideline standards are given priority over the content of the supplementary explanations and comments.

*If, aside from the condition of the item itself, content that is likely to mislead the buyer or differs significantly from the listing information is included, the transaction may be canceled

*Deleted comments are also included in the above because there is a possibility that the buyer has already viewed them

Please select the most appropriate Condition Level after checking the condition of the item in detail for defects such as creases and scratches.

*If an item falls under multiple Condition Levels, please list it under the lowest applicable level.*Please note that authentication and inspection criteria differ for PSA products and unopened cards (items sealed in packs).

Items that can be listed in the "A" category are limited to items that do not present large and noticeable damage and have been stored in pristine condition overall.

Minor cut marks that may occur during the manufacturing and distribution process and mild warping that can be confirmed from the time of primary distribution are considered to be part of an item’s initial manufacturing defects.

In addition, the following conditions are also considered to be initial manufacturing defects, and will meet our guideline standards for condition “A” .

*Even if an item is in a condition that can be assessed as its initial manufacturing defects, if the existing defects are very noticeable, please list the item in the "B" category.

Extremely minor white chipping *In multiple areas

Vertical and/or horizontal lines *In multiple areas

Holo chipping and holo misalignment that may occur during manufacturing process *In multiple areas

Items that show minor chipping or scratches will meet the guideline standards for condition “B”.

The following conditions will meet our guideline standards for condition “B”, even if they are present in sparse areas.

*If the area where the defects are found is extensive, the item will need to be listed as condition “C”

Minor white chipping in sparse areas

Shallow, small denting and/or scratches

Distortion that does not stand out when item is placed on a flat surface

Light creasing that can be seen only in one area

Light warping

Please choose the "C" category when an item presents chipping, scratches, cracking and similar defects that may occur in multiple areas when used during gameplay.

The following conditions will meet the guideline standards for condition “C”, even if they are present in multiple areas.

Extensive white chipping / fraying

Conspicuous unevenness, extensive scratching

Distortion noticeable at first sight

Large, noticeable creasing

Please choose the "D" category for items that have heavy signs of wear on the entirety of their surface.

If the card presents discoloration caused by exposure to sunlight or if it presents any of the following conditions, it will meet our guideline standards for condition “D”, even if they are present in multiple areas.

However, if there are visible signs of writing etc. that detracts from the design of the card, if the card is inked, has heavy chipping, staining or tearing, has signs of trimming (cutting that is not an initial manufacturing defect), severe water damage over an extensive area, or food/beverage staining, this card cannot be listed even as condition “D”.

Large noticeable indentations or moderate scratches

Large creasing that affects the design of the item / Severe fraying

If the card has visible signs of food/beverage staining and writing on it that detracts from the card’s design, heavy chipping, damage, or if it presents any of the following conditions, it cannot be listed even as condition “D”.

Severe water damage over an extensive area

Extensive severe creasing

Trimming (Cutting of the card that are not initial manufacturing defects)

Inked Cards

If an single card shows issues such as being inked, heavy creasing, traces of water damage and other conditions that are listed under the “Conditions outside of our guideline standards” section, it cannot be normally listed for sale, even as a condition “D” item.

However, in the case of “Magic: The Gathering” single cards only, items that are in a condition which would be deemed to be outside of our guideline standards scope may be listed if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The lowest condition rank (“D”) is selected;

  • The condition outside our guideline standards is clearly explained in the supplementary information and clearly shown in the listing pictures;

  • The card can still be used without issue for gameplay purposes.

For PSA, BGS, and ARS authenticated items: Select the applicable condition based on the evaluation grade assigned by each grading agency.

*When listing a set of multiple cards, please select the lowest among their individual grades.

For items authenticated by other grading companies: When selecting the item condition, please select the "他鑑定品" (Other Graded) option.

For items that are contained inside a card holder that certifies it has been authenticated by PSA, BGS, or ARS, we will inspect and authenticate the item as is, still inside the card holder.

During this process, we will carefully authenticate the item focusing on whether the holder is damaged and whether the holder or the card itself is a counterfeit.

Please note that a detailed condition check of the card itself (inside the holder) will not be performed, as it is considered to conform to the evaluation of each respective grading company. However, the transaction will be canceled if the card itself is found to be a counterfeit.

In the case of "card fading" (damage due to exposure to sunlight) that is difficult to confirm from the listing images, the transaction may be canceled if no mention of it is provided in the listing information section.

Additionally, items with label issuance errors (where the card inside the holder differs from the information stated on the label) may also be listed. When listing such items, please include images of the relevant parts that clearly show it is an error card and state in the listing information section that the card is an error card.

*Regarding "Qualifier" grading for PSA items, we authenticate based on PSA's official "Additional Conditions & Information."

*If the card is inside a clear plastic bag, this will be opened at the time of authentication and may be replaced with a SNKRDUNK bag depending on its condition.

When listing items authenticated by grading companies other than PSA, BGS, or ARS, please select "他鑑定品" (Other Graded) in the item condition section.

Please note that if the condition of the card itself (inside the holder) is deemed to be outside our guideline standards, the transaction will be canceled.

We appreciate your understanding in advance.

【Inside Authentication Standards】

Minor scratches and air bubbles in the card holder are considered within our authentication standards, as they can occur during the manufacturing and distribution process.

Should there be large, noticeable scratches, or scratches over a wide area, please provide pictures of these and write the details in the additional information section.

Air bubbles, dust or foreign particles inside the holder

Minor scratching on the holder

【Outside Authentication Standards】

Large scratches on the surface of the holder

Crackings on the holder

Some promotional cards that are distributed inside packs can be listed by sellers as used items even if the original packaging has not been opened.

*For promotional cards that have separate listing pages for “unopened” and “opened” items, please list the item from the listing page that corresponds to the condition of the item in your possession.

Minor damage to unopened packs that may occur during manufacturing or distribution is considered to be within the range of manufacturing defects.

Rest assured that we will carefully authenticate such items focusing on the following points:

・If there is any evidence of the packaging having been opened;

・If the packaging is damaged;

・Whether the packaging is counterfeit or not;

・Whether the card itself (inside the packaging) is counterfeit or not.

【Inside Authentication Standards】

Minor tearing on the packaging

【Outside Authentication standards】

Extensive tearing on the packaging

Crease of the card itself
