Storychat is committed to supporting creative freedom while maintaining a safe environment and complying with platform policies. This guideline outlines how sensitive or adult content (NSFW) is defined, displayed, and managed on the platform. It applies to both creators and users.
Safe Mode automatically hides adult or sensitive content from general view.
By default, all users have Safe Mode enabled.
Only users aged 18 or older may turn off Safe Mode.
When disabled, some NSFW content may become visible.
All content is evaluated based on the following categories:
Level | Description | Allowed on Storychat |
Moderate NSFW | Suggestive dialogue, mild adult themes, romantic scenes, lingerie or swimsuits with no nudity | Allowed (visible only with Safe Mode off) |
Explicit NSFW | Nudity involving genitals, detailed sexual activity, masturbation, penetration, or highly graphic content | Not allowed. Subject to removal or restricted access |
Prohibited NSFW | Content involving minors, coercion, bestiality, extreme violence, or sexual exploitation | Permanently banned and subject to account action |

Storychat uses a community-driven reporting system. Users may report content from a character, series, or storychat at any time.
When a piece of content receives multiple valid reports, the following steps apply:
The content is flagged and hidden from users with Safe Mode enabled.
A notice is sent to the creator, and a “Flagged” label is added.
The creator may request a review via the Appeal feature.
If content that is already flagged as NSFW continues to receive additional reports,
It may be removed from general access and made available only via a restricted entry point.
These items will no longer appear in search or feeds.
The creator will receive a separate notification and may still appeal the decision.
Note: In some cases, content may be served through an alternative access path due to legal or policy constraints. In such cases, existing Storychat subscriptions or point balances may not apply.
If you believe your content does not violate these guidelines, you may submit an appeal.
Go to the notification message or Library card where the item is flagged.
Select “Appeal”, provide your reasoning, and submit the form.
Our moderation team will review your case within a few business days.
Appeal outcomes are based on the classification table above. Decisions may not be reversed unless new evidence is provided.
NSFW content visibility and availability may be subject to additional restrictions based on local laws, app store requirements, and third-party services such as Stripe.
To ensure compliance, certain content may be removed or moved to an access-restricted zone that operates under separate policies.
Purchases, subscriptions, and in-app currency may not be transferable across different access zones.
If you are unsure whether your content complies with these guidelines, or if you’d like additional clarification, please contact our support team.
