Share Screen Troubleshooting Guide
If you experience problems with the share screen function while using ZEP, please follow the steps below. (Only PC)
Share screen is only available in desktop mode.
Browser Tab: Share the contents of a browser tab
Window: Share the contents of an entire system window, browser, or program (system audio cannot be shared)
Entire Screen: Share the entire screen of the desktop
Refresh your browser (F5).
Close the browser and open it again.
Try a different browser.
Restart your device.
Turn off or on the spotlight feature.
Try other share options (tab, window, or entire screen).
When the shared screen goes black:
Turn off the hardware acceleration feature.
In Chrome, open Settings, go to System, and toggle on the "Use hardware acceleration when available" option.
Disconnect and reconnect your monitor, then reboot your computer: Sometimes, a disconnected or faulty monitor can cause the shared screen to go black. Disconnect and then reconnect your monitor, reboot your device, then try screen sharing again.
Check Firewall and Network Settings
For Mac
(This is based on macOS 13 Ventura, and the UI may vary depending on the version.)
If you are unable to share your screen on macOS, try the following steps:
1. Open the Apple menu and go to System Preferences.
2. Click on Security & Privacy and select the Screen Recording tab.
3. Make sure the toggle for Google Chrome is turned on.
4. Try sharing your screen again.
