Useful Tips Before You Start
You can use
{{user}}
and{{char}}
in learning fields. These placeholders will be replaced with the user's or character's name.Prompts are what the AI references to generate responses. On Caveduck, this includes descriptions, world scenarios, secrets, etc. The maximum length of prompts are calculated in tokens (words, symbols, spaces), not characters.
Fewer tokens often perform better. For economical models, we recommend staying under 2,000 tokens.
The type you select defines the base prompt structure:
Roleplay: For romance, friendship, etc. The user and AI play roles in a fictional scenario.
Often focuses on conversations and events between specific characters.
Simulator: Driven by specific events or settings. Multiple characters may appear.
Custom Prompt: Best for advanced users. Write and edit freely in the custom prompt tab.
Only works with GPT and Mandarin models. Others default to Roleplay type.
Choose the primary language, and translations will be auto-generated into Korean, English, Japanese, Spanish, and Traditional Chinese. It may take 5-10 minutes after saving.
Other languages translate when a user of that language enters the chat for the first time.
Want to write your own translations?
You can! After the initial save, click the gear icon () next to each language to turn off auto-translate, then switch languages to manually edit.
Note: If you disable auto-translation, you must provide your own translation.
Enter your character's name. If using the simulator type, this becomes the simulator title.
Avoid ambiguous names like "Mira" or "Future" that may be mistranslated.
Short, international names (e.g., Jenny, Eugene) are best. Korean-specific names may be unfamiliar globally.
Describe the character's age, country, appearance, clothing, personality, hobbies, etc.
Keyword-style entries help reduce token usage.
Describe the world or background story of your character.
If multiple characters share a world, use the world management tab for easier editing.
