How to Chat

• Find a character you like and click Start New Chat to enter the chat room.

• You can use feathers🪶 given daily to enjoy various conversations with characters.

• Browse featured or newly added characters on the main page

• Use tags that match your taste to discover new characters

• Looking for a specific one? Use the search function to find characters

• On Caveduck, if a character is based on copyrighted material or a real person, you can only chat using feathers you already have.

Chats can be written using dialogue and action cues.

• Sentences in quotes "" or without any special marks are treated as dialogue.

• Sentences wrapped in asterisks are treated as action cues.

• wings 🪽 or feathers are consumed per message pair (your input + the character’s response).

• If you use the re-roll function to generate a new response to the same input, it still counts as one message.

• The first message from the character does not count and does not consume any wings 🪽 or feathers.

• If a response seems incorrect, try editing the message to help train the AI.

• You can set your name and basic profile for character chats.

• This can be set before you start a chat, and changed during the conversation.

• Set your personal details in advance so the character can refer to them during the chat!

• The creator may have left useful tips in the character info. Be sure to check it carefully.

PC: Go to the character profile > Click the "Set My Info" button and enter your details

Mobile: Go to the character profile > Tap the gear icon () at the bottom and enter your details

• You can switch between AI models while chatting.

  Try out different models and find the one that suits you best.

Click the duck icon () to the left of the chat input bar.

• Not sure what to say? Try the AI-generated reply suggestions!

Click the magic wand icon () to the right of the chat input bar.

• You can listen to your character’s voice and narration (action cues)!

  Give your character the voice you imagine and enjoy chatting with your ears too!

Voice settings: Click the gear icon () at the top right of the chat room > Go to Voice Settings

Playback: Click the play icon () at the top right of each message (1 wing 🪽 or feather per playback)

• Some creators may have pre-set a voice for their characters.

  Check how close it is to the voice you had in mind!

  This only applies to characters with Super Voice enabled.

Playback: Click the play icon () at the top right of each message

• You can edit both your messages and the character’s replies.

  If something looks wrong or needs adjustment, feel free to edit it.

• The AI will learn from these edits to improve future responses.

Click the edit icon () at the top right of the message.

• If a character’s message is inappropriate, you can report it.

  Your input and the character’s response will be submitted together.

• You can also delete both your messages and the character’s replies.
