According to the regulations enforced by the Thailand Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), importing food, cosmetics, personal medical devices, and non-commercial industrial goods for personal use into Thailand requires the appropriate import permits.
1. FDA (Food · Cosmetics · Medical Devices)
Importers must submit an application via the FDA e-Submission system and comply with the relevant requirements.
2. TISI (Non-Commercial Industrial Goods)
Items such as glassware, plastic containers and tableware, food containers, toys, electrical appliances, light bulbs, insulated wires, sockets, motors, switches, sanitary ware, synthetic dyes, safety helmets, etc., require a TISI import permit through the Thailand National Single Window (NSW) system.
Important Notice: Shipments arriving in Thailand without the required import permits may be held, returned, or abandoned by local authorities. In case of abandonment, additional charges such as Abandon Fees and penalties may apply.
