Creating a Work: Quick Guide

Create your own character from scratch

CS2026-09-10

All works on EdenChat are created by users. Click Create Work in the top menu to start creating your own character. This guide walks you through the most basic creation process using the Single Template.

When you click Create Work, the first step is to choose a work type.

  • Single Template: A simple format that lets you create a work quickly. Recommended for first-time creators.

  • Multi-Character Simulation: A format that allows you to add multiple characters and manage information for each character separately.

A Single Template consists of six steps. While creating your work, you can use the chat test panel on the right side of the screen to immediately see how your settings work in a conversation.

This is where you create the face of your work.

Add a cover image, work title, subtitle, character name, work description, and creator comment. For the work description, we recommend briefly describing the setting and overall atmosphere in two or three sentences.

This is where you enter all the information the AI needs to know.

You can define the time period, main setting, worldbuilding, and overall tone of your work. If needed, you can also add a format for a status window.

These settings have a major influence on how the AI understands your work and how conversations unfold.

This is where you organize your character images.

You can choose how images are displayed: Internal Images, External Images, or Mixed. Adding images that match different situations and emotions can make conversations feel more vivid and immersive.

This is where you create the first scene users encounter when they begin a conversation.

Enter a Starting Scenario title and description, then add narration, images, and character dialogue according to the provided format. You can also use the auto-generation feature to help create your opening scene.

If you create multiple Starting Scenarios, users can choose which one they want to begin with.

This is where you can add default Personas you would like to recommend to users.

This step is optional.

The Lorebook allows you to add worldbuilding details and additional settings that the AI can automatically reference when a user or character mentions specific keywords.

Instead of adding one large block of information, we recommend dividing your settings into smaller entries based on individual keywords.

Before publishing, take a moment to check the following:

  • Do your work title, tagline, and work description all communicate the same concept?

  • Does the opening message give users a clear reason or opportunity to respond?

  • Do your images and safety settings match appropriately?

You can continue editing your work from My Works even after it has been published. However, we recommend being careful when changing settings that may affect users who are already having conversations with your work.
