Long-term Memory

Our story, remembered no matter how much time passes

CS2026-09-10

Long-Term Memory is a feature that saves your conversations so the AI can remember them over time. It's also one of EdenChat's key features.

For example, if you tell the AI your name at the beginning of a conversation, it can still remember your name much later. It can also naturally pick up on conversations you had several days ago, helping your story stay consistent over time.

Click the Long-Term Memory menu on the left side of the chat room to view your current memory status and settings.

Here, you can check information such as the current version, the number of turns remaining until the next summary, and the number of characters currently stored.

Once your conversation reaches a certain number of turns, the AI summarizes the conversation and saves it as a memory.

You can set the summary interval from 5 to 10 turns and adjust the number of characters stored per turn.

You can also provide your own guidance to tell the AI what to focus on when creating memories.

If you think the AI is remembering something incorrectly, take a look at your Long-Term Memory.

If you find any incorrect or inaccurate information, you can edit the memory directly to keep it accurate.

As your conversation gets longer, there is more information for the AI to remember, which may slightly increase the cost of your conversations.

In return, Long-Term Memory helps the AI maintain context and provide more natural and consistent conversations over time.

If your Long-Term Memory becomes too long and the cost starts to feel burdensome, you can summarize the existing memory and add the condensed version back in to reduce its length.
