Foreign Language Support

Channel Talk's translation feature allows you to set phrases in a total of 31 languages, including Korean, English, and Japanese.

Channel Talk automatically changes the language it displays based on the language setting of the customer's browser.

You can set up your channel profile for the language of any of your customers.

  • How to set: [Channel settings] - [General] - [Channel Profile] - [Translate]

Your bot’s name can also be set for different languages.

Translations cannot be added to bots that already exist. When creating the bot, add as many translations as necessary for the necessary languages.

  • How to set: [Channel settings] - [Teammates] - [Bot] - [Add a new bot] - [Translate]

You can set up your label button in multiple languages as well when new customers first come to your site.

  • How to set: [Channel Settings] - [General] - [Manage plug-in] - [Web plug-in settings] - [Label button] - [Translate]

Once you set up the greetings in different languages, you can greet your customers in any language they prefer.

  • How to set: [Channel Settings] - [Chat] -[Greetings] -[Translate]

You can send automatic messages to customers through the "Chat automation rules" and "Support bot" features.

Both features do not support translation. Therefore, you need to set up the "Chat automation rules" and "Support bot" in different languages if you operate your website globally.

Example) If you want to send an automated message in Korean for a customer connected from Korea

  1. After setting [Country-KR] for the filter

  2. In action, click [Send Message] and type your message in Korean. (→ Learn more about Automation Rules)

We collect following information:

  • Country Information: Based on the user's IP address

  • Language Information: User's browser language settings

When you make a support bot, you can pick the language and country settings for that support bot in [Filtering].

In the case of web builders (Shopify, WordPress, etc.), it can be difficult to fix the language by modifying the script.

You can also pin your channel’s language completely to fit your needs! All you need to do is to use scripts and automatically change the language needed. Change the language setting in the Channel Talk's installation script to en (English), ko (Korean), ja (Japanese).

Label buttons, profile, greetings, and bot message language will be fixed in one language you set.

ChannelIO('boot', { "pluginKey": "YOUR_PLUGIN_KEY", "language": "ko", });

You can also change the language of the admin screen. At this time, Korean, English, and Japanese are supported.

  • How to set: [Preferences] - [Account] - [Language]

Is there an automatic translation feature?

In your chat window, the [View Translation] button next to each chat message provides a translation function for either the customer's language or the agent's language.

This is translated by using Papago Translate and Google Translate.
