"You can start from booking one month stay and extend as long as you and host want to live together. When you want to extend, you can follow the steps below.
Tell your host that you want to extend the stay, and agree on period and price by 2 weeks before the end day
Tell Homii how long you will extend your stay (e.g. one more month, 40 days, until March 15, etc.)3. Homii team will confirm with host about period and price, and send bill to you.4. Once you make payment for extended period, it's DONE!

This cancellation policy explains clearly about the main rules regarding cancellation for the host and the guest~~.~~ For the full detailed list of rules, see the Homii user terms and conditions agreement.
Cancellations before the homestay period starts 【Terms and Use No.6.2 and 6.3】
1-1. Cancellation BEFORE the reservation is confirmed
A guest or a host can cancel a reservation regardless of the days before the homestay start
****(payment required within 7 days of receiving the contract or by 7 days before the homestay starts)
The guest doesn’t need to pay a cancellation fee.
The host can’t ask Homii to receive the host payout.
【Definition of “Confirmation of Reservation” 】
To confirm a reservation, both the guest and the host are required to sign the contract. Also, the guest has to pay the monthly homestay fee for the first month to Homii within 15 days of receiving the contract or by 7 days before the homestay starts, whichever comes first. Reservation completes once the contract signatures and payment are confirmed by Homii.
If the guest doesn’t pay the monthly homestay fee for the first month to Homii within 15 days of receiving the contract or by 7 days before the homestay starts (once the day 7 days before the Homii starts has past) reservation proceedings will be automatically cancelled. In this case, the guest has to restart the reservation from the beginning.
1-2. Cancellations AFTER the reservation is confirmed
A guest or a host can cancel a reservation
A guest may cancel the reservation due to inevitable reasons (e.g., visa issuance or itinerary changes). However, a guest should be mindful and respectful of the preparations the host has made to accommodate him/her.
In principal, a host can’t cancel a reserved homestay unless Homii agrees that there is an appropriate reason to cancel.
Homii will asks both the guest and host for the cancellation fee as shown in “Cancellation period & fee” section #2-1 and #2-2.

A guest or a host may stop providing/receiving homestay service due to their convenience or inevitable reasons, if Homii permits the intention of service termination.
The “homestay end date” is set as 14 days after Homii acknowledges the written notice either from host or guest.
The Host is responsible for securing the room for guest till the homestay end date. Host will receive homestay payout up to “homestay end date”.
The guest is responsible for the payment up to “homestay end date” regardless of the stay.
Homii’s Homestay Insurance The insurance covers accidents and damages, including bodily injury and property damage occurring during the homestay period. Maximum ¥100 million compensation paid to injured third parties or for the damaged property depending on accidents, or other legal claims due to the accident listed on the user policy.
Examples of cases of compensations are as follows.
This insurance covers various damages in daily life, such as injuries of the insured party and the destruction of properties caused by the insured party.
The insurance covers legal costs in the case of suffering damages due to one of the following accidents of damage to other people's physical injury or damage to other people's property.
Accidents caused by the use or management of housing.
Accidents caused by the insured party in daily life
For examples:
・ Leakage of water in the house caused damage to household items.
・The insured party’s shopping bag in a department store accidentally pushed a product and caused it dropped and broke.
・The insured party’s laundry basket fell from the veranda at home to the ground and injured others.
・The insured party was injured by someone else while riding the bicycle.
・The insured party was injured because he/she slipped on the wet floor after cleaning the room
・ The insured party was injured because he/she was hit when an Insufficient fixing of the cupboard collapsed.
・ Water leaked and damaged the insured party’s luggage.
・ The insured party broke and destroyed an item in the host family’s house.
・ The insured party pulls a carry bag at the station which hit another person, and that person was injured.
・The insured party burned a kitchen’s wall in the host house while cooking.(※The damage due to Fire and car accidents are not covered)
Example of cases which are not covered is as follows.
Cases that are under our terms will not be eligible for compensation.
In the case of the following three cases, the Company sha
ll not insure the customer with Homii Homestay Insurance.
When the host family does not provide all or part of the hosting service to the guest.
If the guest does not pay all or part of the Homii service fee
Also, when it is reasonably determined that it is not appropriate for the Company to provide Homii Homestay Insurance to customers.
Importance Points:
・ Accidents associated with business execution are not covered by compensation regardless of the type of employment, including full-time employees, part-time workers, and temporary employees. Accidents related to work undertaken by individuals such as delivery services and share services are not covered by compensation.
・Even if you are in a relative relationship with the insured party, the mutual damage caused by you and the insured party will not be covered.
・The liability for damages or injuries resulting from an automobile (including a moped) will not be covered. (Bicycle accidents are covered by compensation.)
・ Damages resulting from Fire caused by misfire is not included. (In Japan, misfires are not liable for damage unless there is intentional or gross negligence.)
・ The validity of compensation is based on the homestay contract period at Homii. After the Homii homestay contract ends, the compensation is no longer cover the precious insured person.
What is the scope of insurance?
The amount of legal liability.
Necessary or beneficial expenses to prevent damage from occurring or spreading, and expenses required to preserve or exercise the right to compensation.
Expenses are required for first aid, escort, and other emergency measures operated to the insured party.
Litigation expenses spent by the insured party with the written consent of the insurance company, lawyer fees, or expenses required for arbitration, settlement, or mediation.
Expenses required for negotiations that the insured party spent on arranging the written consent of the insurance company for the resolution of liability for damages.
Expenses spent by the insured party to cooperate in resolving the liability for damages by the insurance company.
