How to receive and use the Momstay contract for official purposes such as alien registration and residence change notification

  • When you book a long-term stay on Momstay and complete payment through Instant Payment, a contract is automatically issued.

  • Once the host approves the payment, the contract is generated, signed by the host first, and then provided to the guest.

  • The contract is issued in an electronic format, and you can receive it via KakaoTalk or email depending on your registered contact information.

The contract is delivered based on the contact information registered in your profile.

  • If your phone number has the country code +82 (South Korea), you will receive a message through the KakaoTalk channel [모두싸인].

  • If your phone number is registered with any other country code, the contract will be sent to your registered email address (ID).

Please make sure that your mobile phone number and email address are correctly registered in your profile. Incorrect information may result in delays or failure to receive the contract.

The Momstay contract can be used for the following official administrative procedures:

  • Alien Registration Certificate issuance

  • Residence change notification (submission to the Immigration Office)

  • Other administrative procedures requiring proof of residence

The contract includes the accommodation address, contract period, and both host and guest information, which makes it valid as an official document.

  • Contracts are issued only for long-term stay reservations. (Not applicable to short-term stays)

  • A contract is issued automatically only when payment is made through Momstay.

If payment is made in cash on-site or outside the Momstay platform, the contract cannot be issued, and customer support will not be available.

In what language is the contract issued?

Currently, the contract is issued in Korean only.

For submission to government authorities, the Korean contract is the standard. If necessary, customers must arrange for a certified translation at their own cost.

When and how is the contract issued?

For long-term stays, the contract is automatically issued once the host approves the payment.

The contract is first sent to the host, and after the host signs, it is delivered to the guest.

If Instant Payment is not used, a handwritten contract can still be issued upon request, but a fee of 40,000 KRW will apply.

Can I receive the contract again if I lose it?

Yes. The contract can be resent to the contact information registered in your profile (KakaoTalk or email).

If you need it resent, please contact our Customer Service Center.

What information is included in the contract?

The contract includes the following essential information:

  • Accommodation address

  • Contract period

  • Host and guest details

These items meet the basic requirements for submission to government authorities.
