Using Status Effects in Dialogue

Boosting Character Memory During Conversations

nancho • AI Character Creator2025-06-18

It’s helpful to add a brief status note about the user during conversations. Unlike the user note, this note describes the current situation that should be remembered. You don’t need to include it in every message—generally, the character will remember up to 10 messages. If it seems like the character has forgotten, you can add it and re-roll. Make sure to include not just the status itself, but also why it came to be.

1. [User's current status: Back hurts from a night with the character. Left home in a rush, hair is messy.]

2. [Current situation: The user is intentionally speaking coldly after an argument with the character. Due to the fight, a wound has appeared on Orchid’s arm.]

If you don’t want it to appear in the dialogue box, use <!-- HTML comment tags -->

<!-- [User's current status: Back hurts from a night with the character. Left home in a rush, hair is messy.] -->

In addition to this, if there are any other instructions you would like to give the AI model, please include them with the dialogue when sending, or reroll the response so the AI can reflect them in the output.

[Output from the character's first-person perspective]
