Vrew

Previously, you could only create custom characters by entering text to generate an image. With this new update, you can now upload your own images and turn them into characters with fully animated mouths that move in sync with your audio.

Custom characters are also no longer limited to humans — animals and objects can now be transformed into your own animated characters. The Create from Text feature has also been improved to generate cleaner, better results.

We’ve also revamped Vrew’s default characters and added more natural movements to help bring your videos to life. You can find the new feature in [Insert] → [Characters] → [Create character].

Click [Create from Image] and upload the image you want to use. You can even change your character’s pose by describing it. Please make sure to check the copyright notice before uploading your images.

For characters with additional animation, you can also change their pose. Simply click [Apply] to update your character’s pose. Please share your feedback so we can continue to add more poses in the future!

The long-awaited opacity feature is here! You can now fine-tune the transparency level of inserted assets to help take your videos to the next level.

Ways to use opacity:

  • Watermarks & Logos: Add subtle branding to your videos.

  • Moody Effects: Overlay a video in the background and lower the opacity for a dreamy feel.

  • Readability: When subtitles are hard to read over a busy image, reducing the image’s opacity can help make the subtitles more visible.

To adjust the opacity of an image or video, select the asset, then click the [Opacity] button.

Use the slider to set the transparency to your desired level.

Previously, projects created in the browser were saved only to your browser’s local storage. This meant you had to manually download and upload files to sync them with the Vrew desktop app. With this update, Vrew’s Cloud feature is now available in the web version too. By uploading your projects to the cloud, you can enjoy a more flexible, seamless workflow:

  • Device sync: Work on a project from your home PC and continue on a public computer (web) elsewhere.

  • Browser sync: Continue a project on a different browser like Edge or Firefox without any issues.

  • Web-to-App sync: Open a project started on the web version directly in your desktop app.

The Cloud feature is is available on paid plans (Light and above). Cloud storage capacity for each plan is as follows:

  • Light: 10 GB

  • Standard: 50 GB

  • Business: 60 GB

To save your project to the cloud, click the arrow next to [Save a Copy] and select [Upload to Cloud].

We've fixed a number of the bugs reported by users.
