Screen Recording is available only on the Enterprise plan. If you would like to use this feature, please contact us here.
Screen Recording lets you record screen shares or video feeds taking place in a Space. Once the recording is complete, the user who started the recording receives a download link by email.
Recordings are processed on the server, not on the user’s PC. This means the recording will not stop even if the user who started it refreshes the page or steps away temporarily.
You can record videos for up to 1 hour and 20 minutes at a time.
Only the Space owner or admins can start a recording.
General participants and guests cannot see the recording button and cannot start a recording.
The recording target is the user who has been designated as Spotlight from their profile menu, regardless of their permission level. Therefore, guests or general participants can also be recorded if they are designated as Spotlight from their profile. However, users shown only through the Spotlight tile cannot be recorded.
If multiple users try to start a recording at the same time, the first user to complete the start process will be designated as the user who started the recording.
Only Spotlighted users can be recorded.
If there are no Spotlighted users in the Space, screen recording cannot be started.
Only one user can be recorded in a single recording. Even if the Spotlight is changed to another user during the recording, that user will not be included in the recording.
Activate Spotlight through the profile of the user you want to record.
An admin clicks the recording button in the PlayDock at the bottom of the screen.
Only one screen recording can be in progress per Space at a time. If another admin is already recording, an additional recording cannot be started.
At least one user must be Spotlighted to start a recording.
If there is one Spotlighted user, enter the title in the recording settings screen and start the recording.
If there are two or more Spotlighted users, select the recording target, enter the file title, and start the recording.
Once recording starts, a REC indicator and red border appear on the target screen.
When the recording is finished, the user who started the recording ends it.
After the recording ends, a download link is sent by email to the user who started the recording.
The download link is valid for 3 days from the date it is sent and can be downloaded up to 3 times.
While recording is in progress, a REC badge, highlighted screen share border, and highlighted video box may be shown. These indicators are not shown to all participants in the same way. Visibility depends on each user’s role.
Space owners, admins, and the user who started the recording: Admins and owners can see the recording indicators on the recorded user’s video and screen share area.
Recorded user: The recorded user can see the recording indicators only on their own video or the screen they are sharing.
Other general participants or guests: Recording indicators are not shown.
Completed recordings can be checked in
Settings > Recording tab.In the
Recording tab, users can view the list of recordings they started. For each item, they can resend the email. However, only the user who started the recording can end the recording or resend the email. Other admins or owners can check the recording status, but they cannot end the recording or resend the email if they are not the user who started it.
