How to use ZEP QUIZ for Canvas LMS

Install the ZEP QUIZ app in the classroom to easily assign quiz tasks.

ZEP QUIZ for Canvas LMS lets instructors assign interactive ZEP QUIZ assessments directly inside their Canvas courses. Once the LMS administrator installs the ZEP QUIZ LTI 1.3 app, instructors can add ZEP QUIZ as an External Tool assignment, and students take and submit quizzes without leaving Canvas. Scores flow back to Canvas SpeedGrader and Gradebook automatically.

If you need a student account for the test environment, please contact @Jangwoo Bae.

Click the + Assignment button in the upper right of the Assignments page.

On the assignment creation screen, you can attach ZEP QUIZ in two ways. Choose whichever fits your workflow.

Click the Editor Apps button in the rich content editor and select ZEP QUIZ.

After selecting a quiz, click Save & Publish at the bottom to create the assignment. The new assignment will then appear in the course's assignment list.

When a student opens the assignment page in Canvas, the ZEP QUIZ player is embedded directly inside the assignment. Students can start, answer, and submit the quiz without leaving Canvas.

Once a student submits, the instructor can review their result in Canvas SpeedGrader. The submitted answers and quiz score are shown alongside Canvas grading controls.

On the Gradebook screen, the instructor can review each student's assignment and score in one place. Scores submitted through ZEP QUIZ are written back automatically via LTI 1.3 Assignment and Grade Services.

If you run into any issues during installation or assignment creation, please reach out to the ZEP QUIZ team through the in-product chat at quiz.zep.us or contact your account manager.
