How to use ZEP QUIZ for Moodle

Install the ZEP QUIZ app in the classroom to easily assign quiz tasks.

ZEP QUIZ for Moodle lets instructors assign interactive ZEP QUIZ assessments directly inside their Moodle courses. Once the LMS administrator registers the ZEP QUIZ LTI 1.3 (Advantage) tool, instructors can add ZEP QUIZ as an Activity within any course, and students take and submit quizzes without leaving Moodle. Scores flow back to the Moodle Gradebook automatically.

If you need a student account for the test environment, please contact @Jangwoo Bae.

Once registration is successful, the tool will appear in the list. Click the Activate button next to ZEP QUIZ to enable it. Installation is complete.

Once your administrator has activated the ZEP QUIZ tool, instructors can add ZEP QUIZ as an Activity inside any course.

From My courses at the top, select the course where you want to create a ZEP QUIZ assignment.

Turn on Edit mode in the upper right of the course page so that you can add an Activity.

Click the More button, then select LTI External tools.

Enable Show in activity chooser for ZEP QUIZ. You only need to do this once per course.

Go back to the course page and click Add an activity or resource. ZEP QUIZ will appear in the list. Select it.

Click Select content, choose the quiz you want to assign, then save the activity. The ZEP QUIZ activity will appear in the course.

When a student opens the activity page in Moodle, the ZEP QUIZ player is embedded directly inside the activity. Students can start, answer, and submit the quiz without leaving Moodle.

Once a student submits the quiz, the instructor can review each student's assignment name and score on the Grades screen. Scores submitted through ZEP QUIZ are written back automatically via LTI 1.3 Assignment and Grade Services.

To see detailed results for one student, click the “…” button next to their grade and select Grade analysis.

If you run into any issues during installation or activity creation, please reach out to the ZEP QUIZ team through the in-product chat at quiz.zep.us or contact your account manager.
