Push Notifications
Set up push notification settings to increase work efficiency. By personalizing notification settings, you can filter the messages you want to receive, or focus on your work without notifications by turning on the Do Not Disturb mode.
Set up team chat notifications for seamless communication with your team members. Set detailed notifications for each group chat and DM to check important messages.
General messages: Messages sent without mentioning specific members or teams
Mention all(@all:) Messages tagging all team members of the group
Mention @manager: Messages that mention the manager(team member) directly
You can set default notifications for all group chats. It is also possible to set notifications for each group chat if it’s necessary.
Important messages are when:
you are mentioned (@manager)
everyone is mentioned (@all)
In this case, you will receive push notifications, badge, and sound notifications, and chatrooms with general messages will be shown as bold with a small red dot.
Receive all activity notifications: Receive push, badge, sound notifications for all messages from the groups you are involved in.
Receive important messages only: Receive push notifications and badges for important messages only.
Disable notifications: Only important messages are displayed with a small red dot, but no pushes, badges, or sound notifications are given.
The notification settings can be customized for each group / direct message (DM).
You can turn on/off the preview option for private group messages or DMs in notification settings.
If a group chat has customized notification settings, you can view the list of group chats that have done so in the manager settings. You can also change the notification settings directly from the group chat list.
Follow the default settings : Receive notifications in the same manner as how the manager set up the team chat notification settings. (Follow the setting in [Manager settings → Notifications → Team chat notifications → Group])
All activity : Receive push, badge, sound notifications for all messages from the groups you are in.
Important only : Receive push notifications and badges for important messages or messages mentioned with all(@all) only.
Nothing : Disable notifications for all messages.
Only receive @all tagged notifications from groups that are relevant to you by setting them as important messages. You can also disable notifications from groups that aren't important to you, even if tagged as @all.
Advanced settings can only be set for [Important only] or [Nothing] notification statuses.
Follow the default settings: Receive notifications in the same manner as how the manager set up the team chat notification settings. (Follow the setting in [Manager settings → Notifications → Sounds and others → Advanced settings])

Customized notification settings for each group can also be changed directly in the group chat.
You can set the Inbox notifications for chats. If you are using the existing operator mode, you can set the ‘Notify for Unassigned’ and ‘Email reminder’ functions here!
Regardless of your user chat notification settings, if unassigned chat notifications are turned off, you won't be notified when new chats come in.
All activity: Receive notifications on all chats that you are involved in as an assignee or follower, or an assigned team.
Important only: Receive push, badge, and sound notifications for chats you participated in as an assignee. A chat you are involved in as a follower will show a small dot, but will not have push, badge, and sound notifications.
Nothing: Chats that you participated in as an assignee will show small dots, but disable all notifications for other chats.
Receive notifications when a new chat is opened and has not been assigned.
When the user chat notifications are set to receive all activity or important only
When the user chat notifications are set not to notify
If you have not installed the mobile app or have not responded to an unassigned chat for 10 minutes, we will send you a reminder to your email.
By installing the Channel Talk mobile app, you can receive notifications of customer messages through real-time app pushes without receiving email reminders!
If the mobile app is installed, emails will not be sent to the manager even if the email reminder is ON. (→ Installing the mobile app)
You can turn on/off the sound notifications separately from push notifications. You can also change the notification sound to distinguish it from other programs! Additionally, you can also define your own version of [Important messages]!
You can mute notifications or change them to different sounds. Change the sound you want, and use it to avoid confusion with other program notifications.
Mention all(@all) : Messages tagged as mention all(@all) in Team chat are classified as important and a notification will be sent.
Customer's message : Customer's message is classified as an important message and a notification will be sent.
Do Not Disturb Modes are based on the manager's device timezone.
You can choose not to receive push notifications until your desired time by turning on the Do Not Disturb mode. The number of unread messages is displayed even when using Do Not Disturb mode, so you can check the messages at any time without missing them.
How to set: [Preferences] → [Do Not Disturb]
You can turn on Do Not Disturb for up to 90 days. The time can also be customized by clicking the ‘Customized’ button.
Team members in Do Not Disturb mode will have a moon icon next to their manager profile icon.
Green Moon: The team member is online on the channel.
Orange Moon: The team member is offline on the channel.
During Do Not Disturb mode, chat auto-assignment will not work (→ Learn more about setting up chat auto-assignment)
If you're on Windows, your Channel Talk notifications are automatically aggregated in your Notification Center, so you never miss a chat with your customers or team, and you can easily check your messages.
Combines incoming team chat/inbox notifications for each channel into a single view, separating messages by channel.
You can accumulate up to 100 notifications in total, after which the oldest past notifications will be deleted as new ones arrive.
You can read all received messages and close the notification by clicking the 'Read All' button. You can also 'read all' messages grouped by each channel.
How do I set up Do Not Disturb automatically?
Currently, Do Not Disturb mode schedule automation is not supported. Please set it up manually if it’s needed.
Can the notification sound be set differently for Team chat, User Chat, or Group chat?
Currently, the notification sound can be set to only one sound per channel & per manager. In the future, we will continue to develop so that you can set notification sounds differently.
I'm not getting notifications.
Please check that this is not one of the following 4 cases:
If your desktop (PC) has been offline for more than 4 minutes and 30 seconds, notifications are sent to your mobile.
If the desktop app is on, you will not receive duplicate mobile notifications. Please turn off Channel Talk on your PC and check again.
If multiple people are using the same account, you may not receive notifications due to overlapping usage times. We recommend creating separate accounts for each agent. (→ Learn how to invite team members)
On the mobile app, notification sounds are muted from 10pm to 6am.
Can I use the Windows app's Notification Center feature on Mac?
Since Mac already has its own Notification Center feature, Channel Talk does not support the Notification Center feature separately.
