Storychat is a creative platform for AI storytelling, character interaction, and community sharing. These guidelines keep our community safe, respectful, and welcoming.
Creative expression: we support storytelling across all genres, including mature stories written for adults.
Safety first: we protect our users, with special care for younger members.
Respect: we foster a respectful, inclusive community.
Original characters and stories across all genres.
Mature storytelling for adults — dark, intense, romantic, and emotionally complex themes — available to users 18+ who turn off the Content Sensitivity Filter (on the web).
Collaborative storytelling, character interaction, and constructive feedback.
Fan-created characters and scenarios (please respect intellectual property).
Pornographic content — content whose primary purpose is sexual gratification — and visually explicit sexual imagery (nudity, exposure of genitals/breasts/buttocks, depictions of sexual acts). Mature themes in a story are welcome for adults; pornography and explicit imagery are not.
Sexual content involving minors — including fictional, AI-generated, or "aged-up" characters. Zero tolerance, no exceptions.
Non-consensual sexual content and bestiality.
Hate speech, harassment or bullying, and violence or self-harm that is promoted, glorified, or instructed.
Impersonation or fraud, spam or commercial solicitation, and illegal activity.
Circumventing safety features — bypassing content filters, age settings, or moderation, including disabling the filter when you are under 18.
You must be 13 or older to use Storychat (16 or older in the EEA/UK; the applicable minimum elsewhere). We collect your date of birth at sign-up.
You must be 18 or older to access mature-themed content, which requires turning off the Content Sensitivity Filter on the web.
Violations may result in content removal, a warning, temporary suspension, or a permanent ban, depending on severity and history. We remove content that sexualizes minors in any form, terminate responsible accounts, and report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), which may forward reports to law enforcement, as required by law.
Use the in-app report button on any character, story, or message; reports are confidential and reviewed by our moderation team. If you believe an action was made in error, submit an appeal in-app; we review within 5 business days.
