Who This Impacts: Channels using Channel Talk installed via Shopify
Due to a Shopify policy change, the way Channel Talk is installed on Shopify stores is changing. Channels that are currently installed will need to re-integrate using the new method by July 2, 2027. Once re-integration is complete, the Channel Talk button will continue to appear normally on your site.
Your existing installation won't stop working immediately, but if you don't re-integrate, the Channel Talk button will stop appearing on your Shopify store starting July 3, 2027. Please follow the steps below to complete the update.
July 6, 2026 – July 2, 2027 (approximately one year)
Team members belonging to channels that haven't completed the new script installation will receive a monthly reminder via their Channel Talk Direct Message thread until July 2, 2027. (To access your Direct Message thread: Team menu > click your name in the top-left corner.)
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Edit Theme.
❶ Find Channel Talk in the app embeds list > ❷ Enable Channel Talk Script > ❸ Click Save.
Once re-integration is complete, your old script will be removed automatically.
Starting July 3, 2027, the Channel Talk button will no longer appear on your Shopify store.
