[Important Notice] ALF v2 Update Preview

Target : Channels currently using the add-on service ALF

Hello from the Channel Talk Team,

ALF v2 will officially launch on Friday, October 31, 2025.If you’re currently using ALF, please review the important updates below.

  • Between Oct 31 (Fri) and Nov 27 (Thu), you can choose to use either ALF v1 (current version) or ALF v2 (new version). Billing will be based on the version you select.

  • Starting Nov 28 (Fri), ALF v1 will be discontinued. Only ALF v2 will be available, and the v2 pricing will apply automatically.

The previous “per-resolution” billing model will be replaced with a more intuitive “per-chat participation” model.

  • Definition of “chat participation”A chat participation is counted from the moment ALF sends its first reply until the ALF conversation ends.ALF ends a conversation when:

    1. A “Connect to agent” request opens a chat,

    2. An agent joins the chat manually, or

    3. The customer does not reply for 24 hours after ALF’s last response.

    Normally, one participation occurs per chat, but if ALF re-joins the same chat multiple times, additional participations may be charged.

  • What is AU?AU (ALF Unit) is a unified unit used to calculate ALF usage, combining chat participation and task executions. (1 AU = $0.001)

  • What is a Task?A task automates frequent customer requests, allowing ALF to perform real operations beyond Q&A. When the set trigger condition is met and a task runs, usage is billed accordingly.

Your existing ALF settings will automatically transfer to ALF v2. You’ll be able to use your previous configurations immediately after the v2 launch on Oct 31, without additional setup.

  • Note: Migration will be based on data saved by Oct 29.

Items automatically migrated

  • ALF Prompts → “Rules”: Previous “Role Description,” “Custom Instructions,” and “Glossary” settings will be merged into “Rules.”

  • Documents automatically registered to “Knowledge”: All Spaces within Documents will be registered as knowledge sources.

    • If ALF Customer is enabled in a Space and at least one Article or FAQ option is active, all related content will become available for ALF reference.

    • If you don’t want certain Articles or FAQs referenced, change their visibility to Private. (→ Learn how)

  • Commands → “Tasks”: Commands previously triggered automatically by ALF will now run as Tasks under specific conditions. Existing commands will be migrated to Tasks.

  • Quick Publish → “Quick Deploy”: The feature that lets you activate ALF Customer immediately without a workflow is now renamed Quick Deploy.

After the evening update on Nov 27 (Thu), ALF v1 features will be shut down.Chats currently using v1 will no longer accept customer input.If there are ongoing conversations, please ensure customers can continue their chats smoothly by following these guidelines:

  • Customers can start a new chat through Contact Us.

  • Managers can manually open and close ongoing v1 chats if necessary.

We recommend trying ALF v2 during the transition period (Oct 31 – Nov 27) for a smooth experience.

How to switch versions

① Go to [AI] → [ALF v2] → [Use ALF v2 Version].

  • You can revert to the old version anytime until Nov 27 (Thu).

② The version currently in use will display ON, and inactive versions will display OFF.

  1. There are differences in prepaid balance usage, purchase availability, and billing methods between versions. Please review carefully.

Using existing prepaid balance

  • You can continue using your existing ALF prepaid balance from Oct 30 (Fri) to Nov 27 (Thu).

  • Your existing ALF prepaid balance cannot be used from Oct 30 (Fri) to Nov 27 (Thu).

  • Starting Nov 28 (Fri), any remaining ALF v1 prepaid balance will be automatically converted to ALF v2 credits and available for use.

Purchasing additional prepaid balance

  • You can purchase ALF v1 prepaid credits from Oct 30 (Fri) to Nov 27 (Thu).

  • ALF v2 prepaid credits cannot be purchased from Oct 30 (Fri) to Nov 27 (Thu).

  • Starting Nov 28 (Fri), ALF v2 prepaid credits will be available for purchase.

Notes

※ Any ALF v2 usage from Oct 30 (Fri) to Nov 27 (Thu) will be billed postpaid.

  1. After switching versions, all new chats will run on the newly selected version.Ongoing chats will continue on the previous version.

Some statistics will change starting with ALF v2.

The FAQ-matching response feature (which directly quoted FAQ answers) will be discontinued.ALF v2 will instead generate responses using all relevant FAQs, Articles, and other reference materials collectively.

From Nov 28 (Fri), the Early Stage Plan will no longer support ALF.To continue using ALF, please upgrade to the Growth Plan.
