[AI Edition] Changing Your Plan

This guide explains how to upgrade or downgrade your Channel Works AI Edition plan and how billing is settled.

This guide is for channels using the AI Edition.

The AI Edition is a new pricing plan available starting October 16, 2026.

If you're currently using the existing pricing plan (SaaS Edition), please refer to the SaaS Edition subscription and billing guide.

On the AI Edition, you can change your plan even during your contract term. Your current plan ends, the remaining period is prorated, and you’re billed for the new plan.

Previously, you could switch Early Stage, Growth, and Enterprise plans between monthly and annual subscriptions, and any remaining amount was returned as a deposit. Now, all three plans (Startup, Business, and Enterprise) are 12-month contracts, and you use features with the credits included in your plan.

Not carried over

On the AI Edition, these are Enterprise-only features and aren’t available if you switch to another plan.

How carried-over usage is distributed

On the AI Edition, credits are granted each billing cycle, and any credits not used within that cycle expire. So instead of providing all remaining add-on usage at once, we divide it by the number of remaining billing cycles (n) and provide 1/n each cycle.

  • Credits per billing cycle = Total remaining usage converted to credits ÷ Number of remaining billing cycles (n)

  • Use the credits provided in each billing cycle within that cycle. Unused credits don’t roll over to the next cycle.

  • You can’t use features available from the Startup plan and up, such as AI CoS and Notebook.

  • Mobile SDK and Open API stop working.

  • You can’t use add-ons you’ve already purchased. If you switch back to a paid plan within the usage period, you can continue using them.

  • If your usage exceeds the Free+ allowance (2 Operator seats, 30 Manager seats, 1,000 customer contacts), you need to set limits to match the free allowance before you can change plans. If you don’t set limits or remove seats, you may be charged on-demand fees.

  • CX, Marketing, and Team credits can’t be transferred between each other. CX and Team credits expire every month.

  • Add-ons are contracted based on your plan’s billing date. Your billing date is the day you started your paid plan subscription, and it doesn’t change during the contract term.
