This is a guide for channels using AI Edition.
AI Edition is a new pricing plan available from October 16, 2026.
If you are using the existing pricing plan (SaaS Edition), please check the SaaS Edition Subscription and Billing Guide.
ChannelTalk supports three payment methods: (1) Credit card (2) Balance (3) Points. Subscription fees and on-demand charges are billed in order: Points → Balance → Credit card.
Payment is made with the card registered to the channel. The payment gateways used for card payments are as follows.
Domestic payments: Nicepay
International payments: Stripe
Shopify: If integrated with Shopify, all ChannelTalk payments are processed through the payment method registered with Shopify.
Go to [Channel Settings] - [Subscription & Billing] - [Subscription] - [Status] and click the [Try Paid Plan] button.
Click the Start Trial button.
Enter the card details to be charged, then enter the billing email.
After entering all information and clicking the Register button, the payment information will be saved.
When the free trial period ends, you will automatically be switched to the Free+ plan.
If you don’t register a billing email, you won’t receive payment success or failure notifications, so please make sure to enter it.
If you integrated ChannelTalk with Shopify, all payments in ChannelTalk are processed through the payment method registered with Shopify.
If integrated with Shopify, the following message appears when subscribing to a paid plan or registering a payment method. Click [Register Payment Method] to be redirected to the connected Shopify store.
Add your preferred payment method on the Shopify screen.
After adding the payment method, click the [Approve] button in the upper right.
Then, make sure to click the purple [Confirm] button on the ChannelTalk screen.
Settings path: Go to [Channel Settings] - [Subscription & Billing] - [Payment Info] and click the registered card to change the limit amount.
The limit amount includes all charges billed through ChannelTalk, such as subscriptions, add-on services, and SMS top-ups. Amounts not in the list can also be entered manually.
Go to [Channel Settings] - [Subscription & Billing] - [Payment Info] - [Add Payment Method] to register a new payment method.
Click [Set as Default] to set it as the default payment card; from the next billing date, the updated card will be charged.
If you are subscribed to a plan or have unpaid invoices, card deletion may be restricted as at least one payment method is required for billing.
Even on a free plan, card deletion may be restricted if Kakao Talk support chat, notification talk, or brand message features are integrated. Go to [Channel Settings] - [App Store] - [Kakao] to turn off the features in use or delete the connected Kakao channel, then try again.
Balance are generated in two ways.
When you top up via bank transfer
You can top up a balance via bank transfer and use it as a payment method.
If the payment amount exceeds the balance balance, the remainder is charged to your registered card.
Refund returns when a plan is refunded
When a plan is refunded, the remaining amount for the unused period is returned as a balance.
Transfer the balance amount you want to top up plus 10% VAT via bank transfer.
Submit the tax invoice issuance request form. Pre-issuance of tax invoices is also available upon request. ( → Submit tax invoice request form)
Once the balance top-up is complete, you can check it at [Channel Settings] - [Payment Info] - [Balance] tab.
Topped-up or returned balances can be used like cash with no separate expiration date.
When withdrawing a balance, a 10% refund penalty applies. (However, no penalty applies if the entire topped-up balance amount has not been used.)
Points are a payment method that can be used like cash within ChannelTalk. They are generally used by ChannelTalk for payment processing purposes.
Settings path: Go to [Channel Settings] - [Subscription & Billing] - [Payment Info] - [Points] and enter the point code you received to add points.
Points do not include tax (10%).
Example: If paying ₩70,000 with ₩35,000 points remaining and ₩35,000 charged to a card → ₩38,500 is charged to the card in total. (Tax is applied only to the card-billed portion.)
You can check payment invoices based on your plan and usage.
They can be found at [Channel Settings] - [Subscription & Billing] - [Payment Info] - [Invoices], and individual invoices can be printed.
You can check usage billed postpaid along with your plan, or amounts prepaid as top-ups.
To check receipts prior to October 2020, please contact ChannelTalk. (→ Contact ChannelTalk team)
To view payment methods and detailed breakdown in an invoice, go to [Channel Settings] - [Subscription & Billing] - [Payment Info] - [Invoices] and click the relevant date.
If a payment shows as ‘Failed’, there may be an unpaid invoice. Failed invoices are automatically retried for up to 7 days; if needed, you can manually pay via [Repay] in the invoice.
This information is required in the following situations; it does not need to be filled in if paying by card.
